The Armed Forces Museum in Kumasi, also known as the Kumasi Fort and Military Museum, is a historic site showcasing Ghana’s military history. Built by the British in 1897 on the ruins of an Asante palace, the fort played a key role during the 1900 War of the Golden Stool. Today, it houses exhibits of weapons, medals, military uniforms, and vehicles, including tanks and aircraft, from colonial times to modern peacekeeping missions. Located near the city center, it offers a unique glimpse into Ghana’s military heritage and resistance history.
