The Gwollu Slave Defense Wall is located in the town of Gwollu, 124km north of Wa in the Upper West Region of Ghana. It was built in the 19th-century as a defense against slave raiders though construction was never completed as the trans-Atlantic slave trade was abolished during the period of construction.
